Community should back doctors in dispute with hospital

My sisters and I have lived in Newhall since 1962. Our parents lived here until they died, Dad at 85, and Mom at 94 years old. Over the years, we had taken them to multiple specialty doctors in this community.

Their first choice was always Dr. John Cocco, as he was willing to listen, showing genuine compassion and truly caring for us as a family.

Therefore when I needed him this weekend, I called Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital to have him  paged. At that time, I was informed he could no longer be paged for any reason. Nor could he be my admitting doctor.

Then I see on the SCV Patriots website an article at (Please check it out.) that doctors on the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee gave president and CEO Roger E. Seaver a vote of “no confidence.”

My sisters and I would like answers to why many long-term physicians would have done this. Are we, the people of the Santa Clarita Valley, going to back the doctors?

My sisters and I proudly say, “yes.”
