A Canyon County house party ended in two assault arrests after a fight Saturday morning, authorities said Monday.

A 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, who live on the 28000 block of Tiffany Lane, went to their neighbor’s home at 3:45 a.m., Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said in an e-mail.

The neighbors were throwing a party and the two men wanted to party, too. But when the men got to the front door, their neighbors told them to leave.

“The victims did not want the suspects to party with them and they were told to leave,” Cambra said in an e-mail.

Moments later, the two men started to fight with their neighbors.

During the fight, one man allegedly showed his neighbors that he had a handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants and told the other man to “get the bigger gun,” Cambra said.

“The victims were able to push the suspects out of the apartment and called the Sheriff’s Department,” Cambra said.

“Deputies arrived and located two handguns and an assault weapon in the suspect’s apartment.”

One man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and possession of an assault rifle. The other man was arrested on suspicion of battery.

According to arrest records, both men were released from jail Saturday afternoon after posting bail. Neither man had been formally charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Monday.
