Left to right: Billy Davis, Jill Kocalis and Randy Aronson are prepared to find the "double agent" at the Canyon Theatre Guild's "Casino Royale" fundraiser to be held Sept. 26.

The Canyon Theatre Guild in Newhall will offer up "intrigue, excitement and adventure" at its annual gala fundraiser to be held Sept. 26 at the CTG.

Guests are encouraged to dress as characters from James Bond films and keep an eye peeled for a "double agent" that may try and infiltrate the event.

"We have received a communiqué that reconnaissance has uncovered a diabolical plot to take over the world. Our operatives in Old Town Newhall have traced the source of this plan to one man who is working as a double agent at the Canyon Theatre Guild," said Randy Aronson, president of the CTG board of directors. "Once a trusted member of Our Majesty's Secret Service, his greed and lust for power have overtaken him, and he is now working for SEPTRE."
Aronson said the double agent will arrive between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. and mingle with the other guests at the martini bar and silent auction tables.

"At approximately 7 p.m. he will enter the Octopussy Lounge where dinner will be served," he said. "His plan is to move from this area to the casino tables at random intervals, to throw off anyone who may have spotted him. It is a brilliant cover for him. He will be posing as one of the many supporters of the local theater company."

The event will include live and silent auctions as well as gaming opportunities. Tickets are available at a variety of sponsorship levels from $2,000 to $1,500 tables to single tickets available at $100 each.
