A Change for the Better

To The Editor:

I wish to thank you so much for 'fixing' The Signal. I thank you especially for 'fixing' the Escape section, which I used to so enjoy, but which had become stupid, low-class and, well... disgusting. What's funny about making fun of people? Or showing faces of movie stars while talking about important locals, or what's going on in town? Doing things upside down, inverting photos, etc., strange (made up) quotes and tasteless or just non-funny jokes. It seemed like a fake, silly newspaper one of my sons and his buddies would create for fun, at say, about age 11 or 12. Something just went very strangely awry there.

Again, I, and my family, thank you.

I've lived here and read The Signal since 1969, the year I moved here. Tumbleweeds blew across Lyons Ave., and going to McDonald's meant a hazardous trip up a scary, two-lane Soledad Canyon Road (with a 'dead man's curve'), then a stop at the Mustang Drive-in Theater on the way back. And before the movie started, my kids would pile out and play on the monkey bars there. So I know whereof I speak...

Also, the paper looks cleaner and neater now, more finished. And for the FIRST TIME EVER, the colors in the (excellent) color photos are LINED UP. I love it! Bravo!
