‘What does church mean?’
Who: Living Faith Lutheran Church
What: Pastor Pam Challis will guide the Sunday night worship service. Afterward, Dr. Guy Erwin, religion professor at Cal Lutheran, will discuss “What it means to be a Church.”

Life Academy classes
What: First Presbyterian Church of Newhall will host the church’s newest Life Academy classes, “The Letters of Paul, Part 1,” which study the Apostle Paul. The five-week course will discuss Paul’s early letters to the Galatians, and First and Second Thessalonians, the Corinthian letters, and his letter to the Romans. The second class, “Cities of Light,” will explore the PBS documentary “City of Light,” which covers the rise and fall of Islam in medieval Spain.
When: 10:45 a.m. Sundays through Feb. 27. “Cities of Light” will meet at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 6.

Biblically based Conflict Resolution

What: First Presbyterian Church of Newhall will host the class, which studies the biblically sound principles on how to manage conflicts in marriage, family and at work. Brian Jones, an elder at Faith Community Church, will be the guest teacher for the class. Free and open to the community.

A Love Concert for Haiti
What: First Presbyterian Church of Newhall will host Alia Richardson Lamb and Friends’ Valentine Concert to benefit the people of Haiti.
The cast of singers includes Richardson Lamb, Greg North, Tiffany Carmel, Eric Carampatan, Michael Lamb, Ben Johnston-Urey and Rebecca Bolam.
The concert is free, but a $10 donation is requested.
