Here are the latest High School News Briefs from The Signal: 

Hart High Musicians Accepted into Honor Bands
Five Hart High School musicians have been accepted to participate in this year's 2008 California Band Director's Association All-State Honor Band. Cameron Bridston, Danica Cardey, Jennifer Chik, Clinton Thompson and Cameron West will participate in a concert with other All-State Honor Band members Sunday in Fresno.

Thompson and Robbie McCarthy will also represent Hart at the national level in the Nation Honor Orchestra, and Chik made it into the National Honor Band. These musicians will travel to Indianapolis to participate with their groups Feb. 27 through March 1.

Lance Cardey will represent Hart at the Southern California level as part of the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association Honor Jazz Band. He will play at Disneyland on Saturday and at Meng Concert Hall at California State University Fullerton on Sunday.

Students Invited to Apply to School for Arts
Eighth-, ninth- and tenth-graders with a talent in the visual and performing arts are invited to apply for the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts fall 2008 semester. Arts High is a tuition-free public school located on the campus of California State University, Los Angeles.

Students who reside in Los Angeles County may apply to audition in one of the following areas: Theater, dance, music and visual arts. For information and applications, visit www.lachsa.org or call (323) 343-2565. The application deadline is March 7, and auditions will be held April 13.
