Lasagna dinner funds scholarships

Fundraiser: The 43rd annual dinner held at OLPH will raise funds for the Santa Clarita Valley Schola

The 43rd annual Xi Nu Zeta Lasagne Dinner will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 at  Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Newhall.

The event, which is usually sold-out, is expected to draw nearly 200 people to enjoy homemade lasagna, salad, garlic bread and dessert prepared by the 21 members of the sorority.

The event is a fundraiser to benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Scholarship Foundation, which presents scholarships to graduating seniors in the William S. Hart Union High School District.

The foundation has named a scholarship for the sorority, which has been a benefactor of the foundation for more than 40 years.

Committee chairwomen of this year’s event are Sally Coss, Barbara Dyck, Mary Lynne Fry, Barbara Molinar and Dani Rueff.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour, followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
