Interesting weather we’ve had in January, from snow to heat! I’ll settle for average winter or spring weather.

Simply Irresistible
Kris Hough and Donna Kreutz, of Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley and Soroptimist International of SCV, will serve as co-chairwomen of the Soroptimist “Simply Irresistible” Fashion Show to be held March 20 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia.

The show, luncheon and boutique will be produced by Shelley Hann.

The event will showcase the Simply Irresistible Wedding Dress — a stunning creation by the renowned designer Laureen Carter.

At the end of the day, the dress will be taken home by the highest bidder.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Soroptimist International of the Americas programs designed to stop human trafficking. Tickets are $75 each.

For information, contact Hann at shelleyhannpresents@gmail.com or (818) 599-0011.

‘Cupcake Wars’
Kimberly Thurman and Kimberly Aeck, co-owners of Bake You Happy in Valencia will be among the contestants on “Cupcake Wars” on the Food Network.

Their episode is scheduled to air 9 p.m. Tuesday.

“Cupcake Wars” is a reality competition show that pits four teams of bakers against each other for a $10,000 prize.
