The county Board of Supervisors agreed Tuesday on a construction contract for a new 11,343-square-foot library.
The $7.6 million library in the heart of Acton will house a meeting room, a story-telling area, study space and public computers.
A community learning center is also included in the plans to provide homework support and computer training.
The nearest library for those living in the two rural communities is more than 20 miles away, and residents therefore rely on the public library's bookmobile service on the days it rolls into town.
The new library is scheduled to open in November 2009.
