The 2010-2011 season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center continues its eighth season with the contemporary Brazilian dance company Grupo Corpo, Jan. 28, 29 and 30, at the Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Founded in 1975, Grupo Corpo is one of Brazil's most celebrated performing arts companies, combining classical technique with a contemporary re-reading of popular Brazilian dance forms - challenging audiences' perceptions of ballet and modern dance.

Grupo Corpo (literally translated to "Body Group") incorporates a broad range of elements, from minimalism and rootsy modernity to vigorous pop and urban sounds. The Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center debut includes ÍMÃ, with choreography by Rodrigo Pederneiras and music by + 2 | Moreno, Domenico, Kassin; and Parabelo, with choreography by Rodrigo Pederneiras and music by Tom Zé and Zé Miguel Wisnik.

Grupo Corpo will perform 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 29 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30. Tickets, $25 - $105, for Grupo Corpo are available at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Box Office, 135 North Grand Ave., Los Angeles.
