A new star escorted dignitaries at the 68th annual Golden Globe awards ceremony last weekend, adorned by eco-friendly fabrics such as luxurious suede and accessorized by cork, bamboo and recycled jute materials.

Jewelry was provided by Daimler Chrysler.

That star, which also attended the Golden Globes after party, is now on view at California Superstores' new Valencia Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge auto dealership on Creekside Road.

It’s a Chrysler 300, a full-size luxury-type sedan. Some of the awards-ceremony presenters arrived at the Golden Globes event in the 2001 model.

Celebrities autographed the exterior of the car for a later auction.

Warren Beatty, Deborah Norville, Blair Underwood, Mark Ruffalo and Paris Hilton added their signatures to the scrawls on the vehicle’s hood.

The newly signed vehicle will be on view at Valencia Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge for the next two weeks.

In two weeks, the Chrysler 300 will hit the road for a Vanity Affair event and the Academy Awards ceremonies, according to Carlos Hidalgo, president of the California Superstores and Folsom Dodge in Sacramento.

The automotive group recently purchased the local dealership, and is opening a local KIA dealership at the end of the month.

After touring celebrity events, the Chrysler 300 vehicle will go up for auction, with proceeds donated to the American Red Cross.

Chrysler donated the same model last year, raising funds for Haitian earthquake relief by auctioning it through Christie’s.

“We turn over the vehicles to the winning bidders with a new hood, and also give them the autographed hood,” Hidalgo said. “They can keep the autographed hood and mount it in the garage, or a room, as a collector’s piece.”

The Chrysler 300, with a manufactured suggested retail list price starting at $27,260, was auctioned last year for more than $300,000, Hidalgo said.

Designed as a concept car by Ralph Gilles for the 2003 New York auto show, the affordable luxury sedan put up for auction was on display at this year’s at the NBC Universal/Focus Features Golden Globes Viewing and After Party sponsored by Chrysler, held at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Saturday.
