As part of an upgrade and vendor switch on our phone system and bandwidth, our telephone prefix (first three digits) for all direct-line calls into The Signal was changed early this morning. Our suffix number/extension (last four digits) for all Signal employees remains the same. For those out of the market, the 661 area code remains the same.

The old direct lines had a 902 prefix; the new prefix is 287. This means that if you're calling Advertising Director Cliff Chandler, for example, you would dial 287-5575, rather than 902-5575. For Executive Editor Lila Littlejohn her direct line is now (661) 287-5515, rather than (661) 902-5515.
All callers using the 902 prefix will hear an automatic message for the next 90 days informing them of the prefix change.

This change does not affect our standard business lines: 259-1234 for the switchboard; 255-1234 for the newsroom; 259-1000 for circulation; 254-8690 for the sports department, and so on. Our fax numbers remain the same, as well.

For a listing of all department numbers as well as other phone numbers, please refer to page A2 in the paper or go to our web site at www.the-signal.com

We apologize for any inconvenience.
