Palin’s statements make her unfit to lead nation

No rational person can ignore the level of vitriol and military language Sarah Palin and others used in, among other races, the congressional election of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Palin’s crosshairs ads are simply over-the-top playing up a revolution theme to make a midterm election feel like more than a midterm election.

By going over the top and using symbolic crosshairs and terms like “reload,” she did help to create an atmosphere that this election was good versus evil and right versus wrong, and in that context, no different than an armed struggle for the future of our country.

What people may not know is, the term she used, “blood libel,” is the notion that all Jews, forever, bear responsibility for the crucifixion of Christ.

The notion has been used to justify such things as the Holocaust, and spawned tales of Jews using the blood of Christian children in Passover rituals during the Middle Ages.

The phrase is central to the long and ugly history of anti-semitism. This is a woman who wants to be president and probably thinks that yelling fire in a theater is covered by the First Amendment.
