College of the Canyons' Caitlyn Ramirez spikes the ball in a win over Cerritos on Wednesday at COC.

The College of the Canyons women's volleyball team was in control the entire time in beating Cerritos College, 25-12, 25-17, 24-26, 25-14.

After going up 2-0, the Cougars made a few changes in the third game and only lost by a slim amount.
COC head coach Lisa Hooper's team is 2-0 at home and 2-1 on the season.

"We changed things a lot in the third set," Hooper said. "We had chemistry problems. We changed our setter, our defensive libero, our blocker. We went back to our earlier lineup in the fourth set."

Outside hitter Lauren Wells and Heather Seddon both had 10 kills and four blocks.

Danielle Evans had 25 assists and Ashley Arnold added 15.

Caitlyn Ramirez had 17 digs.

"The scores reflected our dominance," Hooper said.

The Cougars' next matches are on Saturday, in the El Camino Classic at El Camino College in Torrance.

At 9 a.m. they will serve it up against El Camino. At 1 p.m. COC plays Mesa College out of San Diego.

The next home match is at 6 p.m. on Sept. 30 against Santa Barbara.
