Bishop Alemany High School has organized a special ceremony Jan. 23 to pray for the recovery of Frank Ferry, the private school’s principal and Santa Clarita city councilman.

The Sunday ceremony, organized by the Parent Association for the private Catholic school in Mission Hills, will also collect money in Ferry’s honor. Proceeds will help Alemany students in financial need.

Last week, Ferry was released from Providence Holy Cross Medical Center after spending more than a month recovering from surgery complication. The 45-year-old fourth-term councilman was admitted to Providence on Dec. 3 after complications arose from a Nov. 30 surgery to remove a cyst from his pancreas.

Ferry is continuing his recovery at home, and was absent from this week’s City Council meeting.

On Tuesday, the City Council approved Ferry’s absence from attendance at regular meetings as he recovers.
Bishop Alemany’s family communion mass and breakfast will take place at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23 at the school’s chapel, 11111 N. Alemany Drive in Mission Hills.

The cost is $5 per person.

The school is also asking for food and cash donations. Anyone interested in helping can call Lisa Lewis at (818) 402-2730 for details.
