Small business owner and former Assemblywoman Sharon Runner will host a meet and greet reception at the Santa Clarita Republican Headquarters tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. to kick-off her campaign for California's state senate.

Sharon Runner's focus in the Senate will be the same as it was in the Assembly: protecting taxpayers and ensuring government's top priority is public safety.

"Already we're seeing our new governor talk about raiding taxpayer's family bank accounts," said Runner. "I look forward to joining with other tax fighters to block any attempt to force taxpayers to dig deeper, allowing government to grow more and more bloated."

During the reception, Runner will talk individually with attendees as well as speak to the group about the how she'll meet the challenges facing our state and our families.

"As a small business owner, Sharon Runner knows the challenges being faced by employers, employees and all working California families. As the co-author of Jessica's Law, she's one of our state's, let alone community's, top protectors of our working California families," said Republican Headquarters Chair Lynn Vakay.

The special election was called to fill the vacancy created when former Senator George Runner left the state senate to take office as a member of the Board of Equalization. The election is slated for Feb. 15.
