Did you miss these local stories?

“Saving a homeowner from financial disaster”
Part 1 of a two part story, The Santa Clarita Short Sale Center rescues homeowners from financially disastrous home-mortgage situations and minimize the damage to their credit by putting homes up for sale on short-sale terms.

“The benefits of a short-sale process”
The process of putting a home on the market for a short sale is not much different than listing a home for a regular sale, with the exception of negotiating an agreement with the lender. The bonus for homeowners is they minimize damage to their credit, are positioned to re-purchase another home in a much shorter time period than a foreclosure would allow, and all seller commission fees are paid for by the bank.

“Workers will see late paycheck gift”
Employees are receiving belated Christmas gifts courtesy of the federal government this month: a two percent decrease in the amount of Social Security taxes withheld from their paychecks. Also, people filing income taxes have a three-day grace period this year. The final filing date has been moved to April 18.

“A helping hand for the smallest businesses”
The Micro Enterprise Committee was organized to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and very small businesses with only one to three employees, self-employed professionals and home businesses. The organization serves a support and advocacy role for businesses who often, due their small size, lack the time and resources to actively network or learn how to grow their business.

“Canyon Plastics buys industrial building”
Canyon Plastics of Valencia purchased a 109,950 square foot industrial building in Valencia, valued at $7,750,000.

“Valencia Car Wash recognized for being environmentally responsible”
Valencia Car Wash uses a specific amount of fresh water per wash, reclaiming or recycling its treated water for future wash cycles and discharging runoff water to a sanitary location.
