Authorities gather around an unidentified stabbing victim outside a Jack in the Box restaurant in Canyon Country on Saturday.

A uniformed Jack in the Box employee allegedly was involved in a gang-related stabbing in front of the restaurant in Canyon Country Saturday night, a sheriff's official said.

The fight occurred at 8:21 p.m. at the location on Soledad Canyon Road near the intersection of Crossglade Avenue, said Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's station.

Two known gang members were eating at the restaurant when they were confronted by two rival gang members - one of whom works at the Jack in the Box where the incident occurred, Cambra said. The Jack in the Box employee and an accomplice asked the two patrons what neighborhood they were from. The answer revealed that both parties were from rival gangs, she said.

The Jack in the Box employee and his fellow gang member asked the rival gang members to step outside the restaurant, Cambra said. The employee and his accomplice beat up and stabbed the other alleged gangbangers, she said.

Sheriff's deputies identified the victims as gang members from previous altercations with the authorities, Cambra said.

The victims weren't helpful in identifying the suspects but deputies identified the suspect who works at Jack in the Box, Cambra said.

Deputies will not release the employee's name until the suspect is captured and deputies can verify he is not a minor, Cambra said.

The victims were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital where they are listed in stable condition, Cambra said.
