LOS ANGELES (AP) -- An hourlong high-speed chase along local freeways Tuesday ended with the arrest of four men in south Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the chase started around 2 p.m. in Castaic, when a homeowner called 911 to report someone was in her home, at the end of a cul-de-sac.

As deputies converged on the home, the suspects fled in an SUV and refused to yield to deputies, authorities said. The suspects sped down Interstate 5, pursued by deputies.

The suspects traveled at speeds topping 100 mph, crisscrossing lanes and driving on the center shoulder, with the California Highway Patrol and sheriff's deputies following.

The chase ended shortly after 3 p.m. when the SUV exited a freeway onto a street south of downtown LA where several CHP patrol cars managed to block the vehicle.

One suspect jumped out and fled on foot. KCAL-9 helicopter footage showed he was captured about a block away 10 minutes later.

The suspects' identities were not released.
