Edison overpowers community with towers

The recent Southern California Edison construction of the huge, overpowering lattice steel towers adjacent to my home is an abomination and a slap in the face to me and my neighbors!

I live in Belcaro, an over-55 community at the north end of McBean Parkway. These dark, hovering giants not only dominate the skyline, they are right next to our homes!

So Cal Edison, in collusion with the California Public Utilities Commission, has decided to ignore the concerns of the many homeowners faced with seeing these 210-foot monsters staring at them every day of their remaining lives.

I dare not calculate the damage done to the resale value of our properties. They took these actions behind closed doors, with no public disclosure of their intent to circumvent previously approved plans to install the much-less-imposing transmission towers.

How can this happen? Is this the way senior citizens should be treated? Indeed, is this the way that anyone who has worked hard to own their own home should be treated?

In closing, I would like to thank the Santa Clarita City Council for their efforts on our behalf, as well as that of our entire community.
