Members of Nexus Valencia staff pose with some of the donations raised by the company for the Valley Food Bank. For the last five years, the company has challenged its seven regional offices to donate packaged food items during the holidays.

Valencia-based company Nexus held its fifth annual food drive to benefit local food banks across Southern California and the response was generous. Seven regional offices across the United States participated in the three-week drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, Alameda County Food Bank, Murrieta Fire Department Station No. 1, San Diego Food Bank, Northwest Harvest Food Bank and Valley Food Bank.

Altogether, 7,430 pounds of food were collected and donated. With just over 400 employees nationwide, the average per-person donation weighed in at nearly 20 pounds.

“Nexus has always been an active supporter of the communities where our regional offices are located. We believe strongly in the power of giving back,” said Dave Elsner, Nexus vice president of sales and marketing.
