More than 300 Golden Oak Community School students were recognized in November for meeting their reading goals as part of the school’s Accelerated Reading program.

The reading program provides students with a reading goal based on their reading ability and rewards them with points for reading and comprehension. Students who have reached their reading goals are recognized during awards ceremonies.

The November ceremony was sponsored by the McDonald’s located at the Plaza at Golden Valley and 347 students who reached their reading goals were honored during the presentation. In addition, medals were awarded to 212 students who exceeded their reading goals by 50 percent or more.
