A 41-year-old man was in custody Monday after he allegedly threatened to kill his 70-year-old mother during an argument, authorities said.

Daniel Andrade was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of elder abuse and making criminal threats.

Andrade allegedly grabbed his mother and pushed her against a wall during an argument, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Lt. Brenda Cambra said in an e-mail.

Andrade’s mother told deputies that the two argued about his drinking after he came home drunk at 4:30 a.m. His mother bumped her head during the argument, Cambra said.

Andrade is being held on $50,000 bail, according to online arrest records.
