The vehicle that struck Myers fled the scene, 0fficer George Myers said.
Motorists pulled over and moved Yant from the center divider. CHP officers and paramedics arrived at at about 10:10 p.m., Myers said. Yant was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of blunt trauma, he said.
CHP officers have no new clues in the investigation, Myers said.
Witnesses did not get the license plate of the suspect vehicle but eyewitnesses described it as a brown or beige SUV or small pick up.
