Yvonne Penny, a community service volunteer, stands near the result of a drive by the Santa Clarita Valley Quilt Guild members to make and donate quilts to the homeless served by the charity Under the Bridges. Penny provided her home as a workplace where the recent batch of 14 quilts and dozens of personal sized pillows were completed.  “It is such a wonderful feeling to work on something like this knowing it will make someone’s life better,” Penny said. This is an ongoing project of the guild, and more quilts will be made for distribution. The Santa Clarita Valley Quilt guild is a 501(c)3 organization that meets monthly to promote the art of quilting through sharing, friendship, education, and meaningful service to the community.
