Wedding: Kopanski-Brandt

Robert and Brooke Brandt were married September 18.

 

Brooke Adrienne Kopanski and Robert Kyle Brandt were joined in marraige on September 18, 2010 at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla. The couple were wed in a double ring ceremony presided over by the Hon. James B. Copelan, the father of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Janice Kopanski and James Copelan, of Glendale. and the late Thomas Kopanski. She is the granddaughter of Audrey and Joseph Mackey of San Gabriel CA and Peggy and Robert Kopanski of Palmdale.

The bride is a graduate of Saugus High School, College of the Canyons, California State University, Northridge and University of La Verne College of Law. She is an attorney with the Orange County firm of Tharpe & Howell LLC.

The groom is the son of Georgia and Jerry Goldberg, of Lake Bluff, Illinois and Robert Brandt, Jr., of Burr Ridge, Illinois.
He is the grandson of Lorraine and Robert Brandt, Sr., of Indian Head Park, Illinois.

The groom is a graduate of Princeton University. He is the head writer and producer of a nationally syndicated sports radio and television show.

The bride, escorted by her mother, wore a strapless mermaid-style gown of ivory silk embellished with crystals and a fingertip-length matching veil. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas.

The bride wore an heirloom pearl necklace and bracelet.

Laurel Hubert, the bride’s sister, of Puyallup, Washington, served as Matron of Honor.

Bridesmaids were Jennifer Valentin, of Miami Beach, Florida; Hetal Patel, of Santa Monica; Casey Brandt (the Groom’s sister) of Chicago, Illinois and Ashley Sharpe (the groom’s sister) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Austin Goldberg (the brother of the groom), of Hanover, New Hampshire and Chicago served as the Best Man.

Groomsmen were Nathan Copelan (the bride’s brother), of Del Mar; Kevin O’Brien, of Chicago; Bradley Watson, of Chicago; Jeffrey Angarola, of Chicago and Adam Butler, of Chicago.

The soloist was Kyle Lowder, of Los Angeles and the Reader was Curtis Hubert, of Puyallup, Washington.

A reception for 120 guests was held in the Charles Fries and Charles Reiffel Ballrooms at The Lodge at Torrey Pines.

The groom’s parents hosted an elegant Rehearsal Dinner in the Sky Room at the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla on the eve of the wedding, which featured a slide show of photos of the bride and the groom throughout their lives. 

Guests arrived from 12 different states to attend the wedding. As they were seated on the lawn overlooking the Pacific Ocean, they were entertained by a string trio. The soloist, Kyle Lowder, performed “Blower’s Daughter” by Damien Rice.

The reader, Curtis Hubert, delivered a passage from “Everlong” by The Foo Fighters. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the wedding party walked back up the aisle to “All You Need is Love” by The Beatles.

A fireside cocktail hour again featured the music of the string trio. At the dinner and dancing reception, the wedding party was announced by Jim Rome. The bride and groom performed a specially choreographed dance set to “Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Buble.

The guests wined, dined and danced into the evening and at the end of the reception they enjoyed a late-night snack and made a final toast to the happy couple.

The couple honeymooned at Moorea and Bora Bora, French Polynesia. They will make their home in Irvine.
