Benjamin “Benny” L. Cather IV was “Winged” Oct. 22 at McCain Field, Training Air Wing One, Meridan, Missisppi.

He was trained in a T-45 and was selected to fly the FA-18 “Hornet.” Cather is being assigned to the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station for further training.

He enlisted in 2000 and was promoted to the rank of Staff Seargent.

While in the Corps he earned a business degree from San Marcus, and earned a commission as a First Lieutenant in 2007.
Cather is the son of Ben Cather III and Kathy Cather, of Canyon Country. He is a 1997 graduate of Canyon High School.
