Two 16-year-olds from Palmdale are in custody Wednesday after allegedly burglarizing as many as 50 homes and vehicles across the Santa Clarita Valley over the last three months.

Authorities arrested the alleged thieves after executing five search warrants at homes in Canyon Country and Palmdale, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station statement.

Detectives got a break in the case after a homeowner videotaped one of the suspected thieves on a surveillance camera installed at their house.

The suspected thieves were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on felony burglary charges. They are being held without bail and they will be transferred to Sylmar Juvenile Hall. Detectives are still searching for a 14-year-old boy they believed worked with the underage thieves.

While searching a home on the 4500 block of Ridgewood Court in Palmdale, deputies found stolen televisions, video game consoles and other electronics, according to the report.

Authorities have been investigating a slew of burglaries in Santa Clarita, Fair Oaks Ranch and the Jakes Way area for months.
