California Highway Patrol officers nabbed 32 drunk drivers during the between Friday and Monday, Officer John Lutz said.

There were no fatalities during the periods, he added.

CHP had maximum enforcement on patrol during the four-day holiday period, which means 80 percent of available staff were on the road, Lutz said.

The most recent four-day period with maximum enforcement was Thanksgiving weekend 2007, when about the same number of arrests were made, he said.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station deputies set up a D.U.I. checkpoint at Soledad Canyon Road, east of Golden Oak Road, Friday evening.

More than 1,000 cars were siphoned through the checkpoint and deputies wrote 20 citations, made two arrests and impounded 11 cars between 7 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday.
