Rick and Celeste Steen, of Canyon Country, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Holly Suzanne Steen to Jeff Wayne Lowzik, of Glendale.

The bride-elect is the sister of Wendy Shaner (Bill Shaner), of Santa Clarita, and the granddaughter of Irene Steen, of Montrose.

She was born in Southern California and graduated from Canyon High School in Canyon Country in 1996 and from College of the Canyons in 2000 — majoring in communications. She owns her own wedding-photography business, Cakes and Kisses, with a studio in Pasadena.

The groom-elect is the son of Wayne and Fern Lowzik, of Saugus.

He is the brother of Scott and Jackie Lowzik, of Saugus.

He graduated from Saugus High School in 1995 and is employed as a certified X-ray technician. In addition, he also trains in Brazilian Jiujitsu and competes in mixed martial arts.

The couple became engaged on July 4 after a Los Angeles Angels baseball game.

They are making plans for a 2012 wedding.
