Jackson is the one

California is in trouble. Our deficit is enormous. We need to solve the budget issue, and we need to do it now.

We must send people to our state government who will be willing to work to solve our problems. We need representatives who are willing to work without partisan concerns.

What we don't need is someone like Tony Strickland, who is airing ads on our local channels that are false in every claim that they make.

Hannah-Beth Jackson is running for the state Senate in the 19th Senate District. Strickland claims that while in the state Assembly, Jackson voted to raise gas taxes.

The bills he cites did nothing to raise gas taxes. In fact, state gas taxes in California haven't increased since 1990. He claims Jackson supported bills that would weaken Proposition 13. In fact, Prop 13 is a state constitutional amendment which cannot be altered or amended without a vote for the people.

Finally, he makes a claim, again false, that Jackson voted to raise the car tax. His assertions make vague claims referring to a budget vote.

Jackson will work hard to make sure our schools have the resources they need. She will work to protect our environment and quality of life.

She will work to find practical and fair solutions to California's budget problems.

That's why I support Hannah-Beth Jackson.
