Man ID’d in fatal collision

A 76-year-old Granada Hills man was killed after he reportedly drove his Ford Escort through a red light last week at the intersection of Decoro Drive and Hillsborough Parkway and collided with a Toyota Sienna minivan on Friday, authorities said.
Sam Aghasi was pronounced dead after being transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. A mother and child in the Toyota Sienna were transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. Their conditions were not known Tuesday.
The cause of the collision is was still under investigation, said Detective Jeff Maag of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
