As part of the Heritage Haunt festivities, Canyon High School’s dance team performed “Alice in Scaryland,” a short, contemporary ballet, at the Saugus Train Station.

The team put on the show at least three times each Friday and Saturday night during the Heritage Haunt in October, an annual Halloween celebration organized by the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society.

Canyon dance team choreographer Brandy Thilesen is also the artistic director of New World Dance. Thilesen staged and choreographed the spooky black-light production. “Alice in Scaryland” cast members include: seniors Kayla Benjamin (White Rabbit), Ava Lopez (Queen of Hearts), Jenna Weinstein (March Hare); juniors Makenna Shaefer (Alice), Vanessa Polanco (Tweedle dee), Geneva Garcia (Tweedle dum), Amy Nichols (White queen), Helen Macri (March Hare), Ashlee Gifford (Tea party goer); sophomores Julie Alba (Red queen), Phoebe Takeda (Cheshire Cat); freshman Jenna Blazi (Caterpillar). The junior varsity team is made up of Lacy Anderson, Courtney Brubaker, Jennifer Marte and Brianna Moreno.
