The new Santa Clarita Street Fair is set to debut on Nov. 27 and 28, and one weekend per month thereafter.

Although the street fair will include exhibitors of handmade arts and crafts, it will also be a venue for local small businesses, entrepreneurs and niche-marketers to market their wares.

"I believe the timing is perfect for small businesses to gain added exposure by establishing a mini-storefront at the street fair," says Tyler Shaw, promoter. "I also envision aspiring entrepreneurs who have only dreamed of opening their own businesses to take advantage this format.

"Our goal is to create an outdoor marketplace that becomes a destination for Santa Clarita families as well as drawing residents from outlying communities."

The November fair will feature more than 30 vendors, music, kids inflatables and gourmet food trucks. On Sunday, the street fair will be joined by the very popular certified farmers market.

The street fair will utilize a portion of the College of the Canyons parking lot adjacent to the football stadium.

Ten percent of the street fair proceeds will be donated to the Santa Clarita Winter Shelter.

"We will designate a different beneficiary each month," said Shaw.

College of the Canyons is located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia 91355.
