A tanker hauling 8,600 gallons of propane overturned on Interstate 5 near the McBean Parkway onramp Monday morning.

At about 3 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of McBean Parkway, a Toyota Prius and a tanker hauling liquefied petroleum gas (propane) collided, according to a spokesman of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The drivers of both vehicles were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

None of the propane was spilled in the collision, and no cracks were visible on the tanker once it was righted.
