Sheriff's deputies were still searching Wednesday evening for two suspects who reportedly robbed two Canyon High School students at knife-point, Sheriff's Department officials said.

The two 15-year-olds were reportedly waiting for a bus at the intersection of Sierra Highway and Via Princessa at approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when they were approached by two men, Dep. Mike Marion said.

One victim, who asked that his identity be kept confidential, told The Signal the two men asked the teenagers where they could buy marijuana.

"We told them we don't know, because we don't smoke," the victim said.

The conversation turned threatening when one suspect told one of the victims to hand over his backpack.
"He faked like he had a gun in his pocket and said he would shoot us," the victim said.

A second suspect allegedly pressed a knife against the victim's chest as he handed over his backpack and cell phone.

The second victim, who also asked to remain anonymous, said he surrendered his iPod to the robbers before the suspects fled in a gold Toyota Corolla sedan.

Neither victim was injured in the incident.

The father of one of the victims called the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station and deputies sped to the scene, Marion said.

The search began in the Canyon Country Plaza shopping center. The two victims rode with Marion looking for the suspects.

Two male Hispanics, who fit the description, were pursued in the shopping center parking lot and ran into a Food 4 Less supermarket. The two males were apprehended, but were not the suspects and were released, Marion said.

Deputies are following the lone lead in the case. The victims gave a detailed description and the license plate numbers of the vehicle the suspects were seen with, Marion said.

The car's registration shows the vehicle was repossessed July 30 from an owner living outside the Santa Clarita Valley, Lt. Tom Bryskie said. That could mean the person the car was last registered to was not involved in the robbery, but deputies will talk to the previous owner, whose identity is not being released, he said.

Deputies are looking for two male Hispanics last seen in a gold four-door Toyota Corolla with California license plate number 5DRK981.

One suspect is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds. He reportedly has a shaved head and was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt. The second suspect is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds. He has a shaved head and was wearing a plaid buttoned-down shirt with a blue collar. Both suspects are described as having three dots tattooed next to one of their eyes.

If anyone sees the suspects, call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121.
