Non-profit organizations in and around the Santa Clarita Valley are encouraged to submit project proposals no later than Aug. 29 for consideration.
On Make A Difference Day, volunteers in communities across the nation perform improvement projects benefiting non-profits in their communities. Locally Make A Difference Day is led by HandsOn Santa Clarita in partnership with the City of Santa Clarita.
Volunteer projects to be considered for Make A Difference Day, must be “hands-on” with visible positive results in one day and will be chosen for their effectiveness and long-term positive impact on the agency and the community.
Activities can include such projects as book and clothing drives, visits to hospitals, school renovations, painting a family health clinic, landscaping a school yard, planting a community garden, neighborhood clean-up and building repairs.
“We recognize that our local non-profit organizations are assets to the fabric of this valley,” said Wade Reynolds, board president for HandsOn Santa Clarita. “Make A Difference Day is a chance for us to help them and leave a lasting impression.”
Community organizations interested in submitting an application can contact HandsOn Santa Clarita for additional information at (661) 294.2573 or e-mail at office@scvrc.org.
