The city of Santa Clarita's "Camp Clarita" is excited to offer camp during winter break to children in grades K-6.

Camp Clarita Winter Adventures will run during three different sessions: Week One is from Dec. 20-23, Week Two is from Dec. 27-30 and Week Three is from January 3-7, 2011.

Winter Adventures will be held at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex Activities Center, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.

Winter Adventures is a traditional day camp program where children participate in weekly themed programs and activities such as arts and crafts, games, and a weekly field trip to age-appropriate locations throughout Southern California. Supervision ratio is one counselor for every ten campers. Staff is dedicated to providing a safe, fun and comprehensive environment that serves the recreational needs of youth in Santa Clarita.

The cost for Camp Clarita Winter Adventures is $140 for Week One, $140 for Week Two and $160 for Week Three. Fees include admission and transportation to field trip destinations, daily snack, and one free camp T-shirt given on their first day of camp.

Camp hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with core camp hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Extended care is offered at no additional cost.

Online registration for winter camp begins Monday, Nov. 15, at 8 a.m. and walk-in registration begins Monday, Nov. 15, at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex Aquatic Center at 10 a.m.
