Deputies seek man who held up station

Local sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who held up a local gas station at gunpoint Thursday night.

The robbery occurred at approximately 11 p.m., according to Lt. Mark Hershey with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The man reportedly brandished a black revolver, robbed the Shell gas station at 18003 Soledad Canyon Road of $140 and then fled on foot.

The only description available Friday was that the gunman was a white male standing about 5 feet, 9 inches tall.

The gas station is located on the east side of Galeton Road, a few blocks from the intersection of Solamint and Soledad canyon roads.

There were no reported injuries.
