A Canyon Country man was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of battery Thursday after hitting his wife with his car.

Anthony Davis, 48, appeared at San Fernando Superior Court.

The alleged attack occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 27900 block of Calypso Lane, said Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Davis reportedly got into an argument with his wife and adult daughter. He then allegedly struck his daughter, which is the reason for the battery charge, Cambra said.

Davis reportedly left the home and got into his car. His wife, daughter and another woman left the home shortly after Davis. The three women were standing in the front yard when Davis reportedly sped his car directly at the women.

The car reportedly struck his wife in the couple’s front yard. The two other women were reportedly able to jump out of the way.

The wife’s injuries were minor, Cambra said, and added the other women were not injured.

Davis is being held in jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
