Local volunteers work to Make a Difference

 Jayden Medina, 3, dumps a load of mulch into a wheelbarrow as his parents and several other volunteers install a community garden at Santa Clarita Stepping Stones Children’s Center in Newhall on Saturday.

Their efforts were part of Make a Difference Day, a national event that takes place annually on the fourth Saturday in October. More than 2,200 volunteers signed up to work on projects in their community, such as landscaping, cleanup and building repair.
