A Canyon Country man was in court Tuesday after he reportedly threatened the mother of his child and fled from sheriff’s deputies.
Matthew Carrillo, 20, was in Newhall Municipal Court on Tuesday and charged with violating parole, criminal weapons possession and making criminal threats.
The charges stemmed from incidents on July 31 and Aug. 1.
Carrillo allegedly threatened the mother of his child with a shotgun on July 31, according to Lt. Brenda Cambra with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. The unidentified woman filed a complaint following the incident.
On Aug. 1, Carrillo reportedly fled from sheriff’s deputies after a traffic stop, leaving two passengers and a shotgun behind. The passengers reportedly said the shotgun belonged to Carrillo.
Carrillo was arrested Friday morning at his home during a random search by parole officials, Cambra said. He is in sheriff’s custody without bail.
