Bomb threat turns out to be hoax
Sheriff's deputies scrambled to Quantum Staffing on Avenue Stanford at about 12:41 p.m. Tuesday after a bomb threat was phoned in by a female caller, according to Lt. Tom Bryski with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

Deputies searched the Quantum Staffing building and no explosives were found, Bryski said.

Authorities did not know Tuesday afternoon know who phoned in the threat or where the call originated.

"This turned out to be nothing," he said.

Pretrial delayed for counselor
Scott Spindel, attorney for former Golden Valley High School counselor Roselyn Hubbell, appeared in Newhall Municipal Court on her behalf Tuesday requesting another continuation of her pretrial date.

Judge Harold S. Vites granted the request and the pretrial date was rescheduled for Oct. 15.
Hubbell has pleaded not guilty to charges of one misdemeanor count of annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18.

The former Hart district employee was arrested in June while attempting to check into a hotel with a minor.

She is also being investigated for an inappropriate relationship with another minor.

Judge Vites asked that both parties attempt to settle the case out of court, but Deputy District Attorney Kareen O'Brien, who is assigned to the case, said that no offers to settle have been made at this point.
