The city of Santa Clarita Transit has annnounced new changes to the electronic TAP card.

Transit customers using a TAP card may now purchase and electronically load monthly local, commuter or day passes online.

TAP users can also sign up for automatic monthly pass renewals, view and manage transactions, or purchase and load multiple transit agency bus passes. Stored cash value and EZ transit passes are not currently available for purchase online.

Customers can load their TAP card online by visiting santaclaritatransit.com.

Effective Dec. 1, there will be a $3 processing and shipping fee for all EZ transit pass orders placed online.

This charge will allow the city to fulfill online orders using Certified Mail through the U.S. Postal Service. Certified mail provides a mailing receipt, a unique identifier for your pass, and proof of delivery.

This fee applies only to online orders and ensures your pass arrives safely.

Effective Jan. 1, 2011, all local Santa Clarita Transit passes (the $30 paper pass) will be discontinued and transitioned onto the TAP card.

For more information, call (661) 295-6300 or visit santaclaritatransit.com.
