Change: In the Eye of the Beholder

To The Editor:

I believe the joy of human life is in the freedom of our flesh and blood. Therefore, human life is best in America rather than anywhere else in the world. It is a place where people have the freedom to choose - to prosper, give, be religious, be offended, and even have it all.

What's amazing about America, most of its greatness has been accomplished without government. We seem to be at our best when our government simply "stays out of the way." For so much of our history, our federal government "protected" us; it didn't "carry" us.

Now, being "carried" by the government seems to be the "change" people want. How sad!

The Constitution designed our federal government to provide protection to people in states which in turn set their own "social policy." Therefore, there are 50 different ways to be American! Instead, we get politicians proposing "universal this" and "universal that." What a crock!

America getting back to its Constitutional framework is the "change" I want. If people so choose, there is a way to change the Constitution, but it's not through the courts.

Maybe a movement of like-minded "Framers" will grow someday.

Do they teach about our Constitution in government class?

If they did, people might realize what has made America great and be less likely to stray from it.
