The "First Thursday" Art walk returns to Old Town Newhall today.

The Art Walk, where local businesses open their doors to showcase local artists, both performance and visual runs concurrent with the Old Town Newhall Farmers' Market, which takes place every Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Art Walk is every first Thursday of the month from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

For October's Art Walk a special artist's reception will be held at OutWest Marketing featuring fine artist and designer Bob Hernandez, unveiling his new collection titled "Faces of the Blues."

Rendezvous with a writer will also be held featuring Peter Sherayko as he shares his stories on the making of the western classic Tombstone.

"Whether you need to grab some fresh produce, or you want to enjoy a stroll and look at some fantastic art, Old Town Newhall is a great place to visit on a Thursday afternoon," Mayor Laurene Weste said.

Tomatoes, strawberries and peaches are organic fruit that you can find at the Old Town Newhall Farmers' Market, every Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Main Street (between Market and 6th Street). Shop from professional grocers, for healthy wholesome produce and flowers grown in local fields from Oxnard to Temecula.

For more information on the Farmers' Market and Art Walk, call the city's Arts and Events office at (661) 286-4018.
