First Place
My summer started with a roadtrip. We went up to Washington. On the way to Washington, we saw a volcano. When we got to Washington, we visited my aunt. We went to the zoo and I got to see a grizzly bear. Then we went across Washington to see a friend. He had five horses and two dogs. Then we went all the way back to California. After that, we went to Nevada. Then we were done for the day. The next day, we reached Las Vegas. We checked into our hotel and went to the movies. The next day, we went to the Pawn Stars, a gold and silver pawn shop, and we looked around. We went to another hotel called the Orleans, and went bowling and played at the arcade.

Second place
My summer was fun. We went to the pool several times with friends. We went to the movie theater. The movies we saw there were “Despicable Me” and “Toy Story 3.” Sometimes we would just stay at home all day and watch TV. When my grandparents came to visit, we went to Pasadena. It was so pretty there. We also went to the beach a couple of times.
Then we went to the zoo one time, and the last thing we did was go to San Diego and Legoland. It was so fun!

Third place
My favorite part of summer is when I went to Magic Mountain. When we got there my mom bought us a tiny pizza from Papa John’s. I ate the whole thing before my mom could take one bite. After, Mom took me on a ride. She said, “This ride is very calm.” Then it was very fast, so I didn’t feel so good. When the ride was over, we went on Batman when it was sunset. I was the only kid in line. I was shivering with fear. After, we went to the game where you squirt in the hole. I won Tails from “Sonic the Hedgehog.” That was my favorite part of summer.

My favorite part about my summer vacation is that I went to North Carolina to go whitewater rafting with my family. The best part about it is that we got to spin on some of them. We got to give some of the rocks names. At the end, we were soaking wet!

For my summer vacation I went to Las Vegas! I went with my friend Angie and her family. We first went to the hotel. It had a pull-out bed, three other beds and a TV in all of the rooms! The bath tub had jets in it and the pool had water slides. I had so much fun, Then we went to the M&M store. There was every color M&M you can think of. It was amazing. I had lots of fun and hope to go again sometime!

My favorite part of summer is when I bought the video games “Pokemon Revolution,” “Indian Jones: The Adventure Continues,” “Fossil Fighters,” “Spectrobes” and “Pokemon Fire Red.” They are really fun! I also traded in six games. But I got over 75 dollars in gift-card money — that’s how I bought my games.

On July 10, when I was at a Piranhas swim meet, my baby brother D’angello was born. D’angello was born at 2:01 p.m.
We went to see him. When we got to the hospital, I wasn’t allowed to see him. But when I got to my house, I saw
D’angello sleeping. Now I help my mom take care of D’angello.

The best part of the summer was when we went to a lot of places, like Denver. I went there because my cousin was turning 7. I also went to Nevada and went jet skiing for the first time. My favorite thing during summer was when I went to Universal Studios. I even got roller blades that light up while you’re using them.

My summer vacation ... well, it was okay but let’s begin with part 1. One sunny morning I woke up but I realize I had to go to summer childcare. I hated that place but I had one thing in mind, I also got to go on field trips and that was going to be fun. We went to the Santa Barbara Zoo, Hurricane Harbor and other fun places too. A couple weeks later we went back to Helmers. Man oh man, I loved Helmers. Then school started. I still love school a lot and I’m in fourth grade
at Helmers Elementary School grade now. I also had a wicked summer. Boy I love summer a lot!

My favorite part of summer was my birthday party. The best part of it was when we had to balance on a small piece of wood. Another favorite part is when we had to make a ball roll out of a bucket. I also liked sliding a coin on an X. We also ate baby food!

My favorite part of summer was when we went to Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and we went on cool rides like the Giant Dipper and Cyclone. I love the boardwalk. We also went to the movies and saw “Toy Story 3.” After, we went to Disneyland and we went on awesome rides like Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, California Screamin’, Tower of Terror and the World of Color. After, we went to Denny’s and left to go home.

My favorite part of summer at Lighthouse Learning Center was the field trip to the ice rink. When we first got there, all of us got our skates. Then we went on the ice. I had to use the bars but my friends Ekaterina and Rhea wanted to teach me how to skate. First, I kept saying no, but then I gave it a chance. After a while I learned to skate. Then I went up for some hot chocolate. It was definitely the best day ever.

When I was on summer vacation, I went to upstate New York to see my grandma and cousin. Then, I went to Washington, D.C. where I saw all the monuments like the White House. Then I saw my grandma and grandpa. Back in California I won a tournament with my soccer team. And that was my fantastic summer vacation.

My favorite part of summer is playing with my family and friends. Like when we were all playing Wii or when we were all playing Xbox 360. I like when me and my sister play “Small World” with my mom and dad. I also liked going to Magic Mountain. I can also go on Collosus!

My favorite part of the summer is San Francisco. My family and I did tons of things. First we went to our hotel, called the W. The hotel was a jazzy hotel. The next day we did a lot of tours. We also went to Muir Woods. Did you know it has some of the tallest Redwood trees? They’re about 300 feet tall! What was really cool was when we went on the Golden Gate Bridge. I walked down Lombard Street with my brother and my parents. Lombard Street is the most crooked street in California. I went to a subway station and on a cable car, too. It was my first time driving on one. It is so fun in San Francisco. I even got to go on a ferry boat. I went to a museum of kid science. The only bad thing was that there were a lot of homeless people. I love San Francisco a lot!

I went to San Francisco and I got on a boat with my friends and went under the Golden Gate Bridge. After that, we got paintings of our faces and got these funny looking teeth. And then we went to the museum of fish and insects. And then we went to an art gallery and got a painting.

I went to the National Championships for the Junior Olympics in Sacramento over summer. We took 17th in the whole United States. But to get there I had to compete in Las Vegas. Not only did I run, but I did long jump too. I didn’t make it for the long jump but I did for the 4x100 relay race. To get me to the Junior Olympics was a long way and hopefully I will get there next year. But if I don’t, then I’ll know that I did my best.

I spent my summer vacation in Paso Robles, which is my favorite place to visit. Paso Robles is located in the Central Coast of California, which is about three hours from Valencia. I stayed in a trailer with my family and friends at an RV park. The park allowed dogs because there was a dog park. Each trailed had its own space. We had electricity, water, sewage, and of course, TV. If you had a computer, you had access to the Internet. At the RV park we had a pool, a space and an office with snacks. You could also make reservations there. We had a laundry room too, and best of all there were showers and a gym to exercise. While I was there I ate a lot of junk food. Four times a day, I walked my dogs to the dog run and I also had to take out the trash. The best part of my vacation was that there was a water park across from the RV park. While I was there in the wavepool, I met a new friend named Zach. We had fun together. Later my sister got me hooked up on Skype, which is where you can chat and see each other while people talk. I made plans to hang out at his house, but it not work out because they live in Morro Bay and that is too far to go. My mom and dad went to lots of restaurants. My favorite restaurant was in Santa Margarita near Paso Robles. It is called The Range. They had fantastic olives and delicious mashed potatoes. As you can see, I had an awesome rockin’, rollin’ summer.
