Isn't there anyone who's worthwhile?

I've been thinking about the election. I've been a registered Libertarian, Democrat and now a Republican. None of these parties represent how I feel about our elected officials now.

All the people in office with their hand on the tiller are steering the U.S. off the financial cliff by taking over banking, the auto industry, ruining real estate with mismanagement of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac and now trying to get their hooks into health care. They need to be gone.

I am now a "registered" anti-incumbent. If you're in office, you need to be gone, from top dog on down. If there's been any leadership shown by any of them, I haven't been able to see it.

True, I only get (two) newspapers and the TV commentators to shape my opinion, but except for one TV nut they seem to share my opinion of what's going down: America.

I don't understand why there isn't anyone worthwhile who will run for high office. Peter Uberoff comes to mind. He organized the Olympics here - probably too old now. How about the guy who made Ford build Mustangs when the big wheels didn't want to? Probably the same problem - too old.

These people knew how to get things done. There are others but they won't come to mind right now. It's too early in the morning for clear-headed thinking.
