Several lanes of the Newhall Pass will be closed Friday night through Saturday morning while the California Department of Transportation continues construction work on new carpool lanes.

Friday's overnight closures are as follows:
n 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. - One to two lanes of northbound I-5 from Balboa Boulevard to Sierra Highway.
n 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. - The Sierra Highway on-ramp to northbound I-5.
n 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. - The southbound I-5 off-ramp to Sierra Highway.
n 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. - The southbound I-5 off-ramp to Balboa Boulevard
n 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. - The southbound I-5 connector to northbound Highway 14.
n 11 p.m. to 1 p.m. - One to two lanes of the northbound I-5 connector to northbound Highway 14.
n 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. - The northbound I-5 connector to northbound Highway 14.
n 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. - One lane of southbound I-5 from Calgrove Boulevard to Sierra Highway.
n 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. - One to two lanes of southbound I-5 from Sierra Highway to Balboa Blvd.
n 11:59 p.m. to 7 a.m. - One to two (all) lanes of the northbound and/or southbound I-5 truck lanes.
n 11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m. - The southbound I-5 connector to eastbound 210 freeway.
