Record attempt fails in Hell

HELL, Michigan (AP) — A Hell-based car club has fallen short in its attempt to set a world record for the longest procession of hearses.

Just Hearse’N Around tried Saturday to set a new Guinness World Records mark in the hamlet about 45 miles west of Detroit. The club needed at least 50 hearses to make the procession for the record.

The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press report 43 turned out. The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell reports that the gathering to break the record went on despite intermittent rains.
